Using the OSU Online Directory with Eudora 5

Eudora 5 for Windows:
- Open Eudora
- Click on the Tools menu and choose Directory Services
- In the Protocols window, the upper right box, highlight LDAP, by clicking on it, and click on the New Database button.
- Type directory.oregonstate.edu in the Type the name by which you would like to refer to this server and in the Hostname field
- Enter 389 in the port field and click on the Search Options tab
- Enter o=orst.edu in the Search Base field
- Click on the OK button and then check the box next to directory.oregonstate.edu
To search for people, enter their name in the Query field and click on the Start button

Eudora 5 for Mac OS 9:
- Move the file Esoteric Setting 5.1 from the Eudora Plugins folder located in the Eudora folder to the same location as the Eudora Application
- Open Eudora (note: if Eudora is open close it and restart the program so the change will take effect.)
- Click on the Special menu and choose Settings
- On the left side bar scroll down until you find Hosts and click on it
- Enter ldap://directory.oregonstate.edu:389/o=orst.edu in the PH/LDAP Server: box
To search for an address click on the Window menu and select Directory Services. Enter the name of the person that you are searching for in the Enter Query box and click the Lookup button.

Eudora 5 for OS X:
- Open Eudora
- Click on the Eudora menu and choose Preferences...
- On the left side bar scroll down until you find Hosts and click on it
- Enter ldap://directory.oregonstate.edu:389/o=orst.edu in the PH/LDAP Server: box
To search for an address click on the Window menu and select Directory Services
Enter the name of the person that you are searching for in the Enter Query field and click on the Lookup button.
